The cargo traffic is very important for Wasaline. We operate the route between Vaasa in Finland and Umeå in Sweden all year round several timed daily.
Aurora Botnia is tailored for cargo transportation across the Kvarken. With 1 500 lane meters, we have large cargo capacity, fast crossing time, possibilities for special transports and good capacity during all 12 months of the year. The CO2 footprint per ton has been decreasing every year and this makes transports more environmentally friendly for the manufacturing industry. As of August 2025 Wasaline is operating CO2 neutrally.
From the port of Umeå there are excellent possibilities for intermodal transports by connecting directly from the port to the Swedish and international railway network.
