Sustainable group travel
Our route traverses the beautiful but vulnerable Kvarken archipelago, which has a uniquely rich species. We take responsibility for our operating environment and encourage our customers and partners to do the same.
Aurora Botnia is designed with energy efficiency and low emissions in mind. The vessel is a hybrid vessel powered by LNG, biogas, and battery technology. Commissioned in 2021, it already meets the emission reduction targets set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) for the year 2050. The emission targets according to the EU’s Fit for 55 package set for 2030 have also been achieved.
The work to reduce maritime emissions continues and is reflected in our operations across the board. Among other things, the lighting, heating and air conditioning of the meeting rooms are intelligently adjusted according to use, which results in a significant reduction in energy consumption. Our uncompromising work for the environment is recognized with the ISO 14001 certificate.
The use of renewable biofuels and battery energy makes all conference trips aboard Aurora Botnia emission-neutral.
And that’s not all: whenever possible, we use local ingredients from both sides of the Quark in our restaurants. All waste generated on the ship and in ports is sorted thoroughly and forwarded to appropriate treatment facilities.
