Best February ever for Wasaline

Wasaline is pleased to announce that this February has been the best February ever in terms of passenger numbers and freight. With a significant increase compared to the previous year, Wasaline has reached new record highs in the company’s history.

During the month, 16,415 passengers traveled with Wasaline, marking a 14.6% increase compared to the same period last year. At the same time, cargo volumes reached record levels for a single February month, with a total of 1,828 units transported by Wasaline – an 8% growth compared to February 2024. This development reflects a growing demand for both passenger and cargo transportation between Vaasa and Umeå.

“We are extremely pleased with this result, which is a clear proof of our strong brand and commitment to sustainable and reliable maritime transport. We continue to see strong demand and are constantly working to improve our services for our customers,” says Peter Ståhlberg, Managing Director of Wasaline.

The success is driven by a combination of factors, including increased international tourism. The vessel’s modern technology and low emissions have also contributed to attracting more travelers and cargo.

Wasaline looks positively towards the future and plans to continue developing both the passenger and cargo segments, with a focus on sustainability and customer experience.
