One million passengers have traveled with Aurora Botnia

This autumn, Wasaline’s Aurora Botnia has been operating for four years, and today was a special day as the company celebrated its one-millionth passenger. The lucky traveler was surprised with a gift card and flowers by Managing Director Peter Ståhlberg.

“We were so surprised,” says Ann-Catrin Enegren, who became Wasaline’s millionth passenger.

Trygve and Ann-Catrin Enegren often travel with Wasaline. They live in Tölby, Korsholm near Vaasa and are on their way to Luleå in Sweden.

“We like Aurora Botnia very much, and our grandchildren also really want to come along on the ship,” says Trygve Enegren.

Trygve and Ann-Catrin Enegren were gratulated by Peter Ståhlberg.

Wasaline’s Aurora Botnia had its maiden voyage on August 28, 2021. The ferry, which operates between Vaasa and Umeå, is a hybrid vessel with minimal emissions, as it runs on natural gas and batteries.

Passengers include those traveling out of necessity to the other side of the Kvarken, as well as cruise passengers who simply want to enjoy good food and drinks and perhaps spend a day in the other city. Freight transport is also important for the company.

“We are happy that so many have found their way to us, and we are optimistic about the future, both regarding local passengers from both sides of the Kvarken and international guests,” says Peter Ståhlberg, Managing Director of Wasaline.
