Lisää Löylyä
Lisää Löylyä has the honour of starting the festival season in Vaasa. The festival continues to celebrate hard rock and metal in all forms, with headliners such as Ugly Kid Joe and Sonata Arctica. Swedish audiences should feel right at home when watching performances by Erik Grönwall (pictured), Dynazty and Scarlet.
The festival takes place in Vaskiluoto where the Wasalandia amusement park once stood. The grounds are easy to reach both from the Wasaline ferry terminal and the city centre.
Drömmen Festival
Visit Drömmen in Finland – your favourite artists are already here! The Finnish Drömmen follows the same popular concept of its Stockholm sibling and welcomes Swedish stars such as Markoolio, Ingrid Enckell and Arvingarna to Vaasa.
Drömmen Festival is a nostalgic music concept featuring beloved artists and music we all know and love: from schlager to pop and from power ballads to disco. The festival park next to the university campus creates lovely surroundings for a sparkling party evening.
Bigday Summer Festival
Bigday has established itself as the top festival for teenagers and young adults. The promoters have a close eye for emerging Nordic talent and know how to pair music with explosive visuals and comfortable festival grounds.
So far the festival has announced international artists including Alan Walker, Miriam Bryant and Soppgirobygget, with Finnish streaming stars completing the lineup. More artists will be released during the spring.
Like Drömmen, Bigday takes place in Palosaari next to the university campus area: by the sea, within walking distance from the city centre.
ZINC Craftbeer & Streetfood Festival
ZINC Craftbar welcomes beer enthusiasts to Vaasa for the third time. The event is your chance to taste beers from over 20 selected European breweries. Many of them do not have distribution in Finland and the brewmasters are attending in person, which makes this event far more exclusive.
Besides beer, your tastebuds will be spoiled with a variety of street food dishes from numerous vendors. Entertainment and the evening sun completes the experience that takes place at the heart of Vaasa, on a compact and cozy festival ground built right on the market square.
Kaaos Festival
Calling all metal music enthusiasts! One of the hardest metal experiences of the summer awaits in Vaasa, within walking distance of the Wasaline terminal.
The second installment of Kaaos Festival welcomes both international headliners and cult bands from more extreme subgenres to Vaasa. Over two days, acts like Beast In Black (pictured), The Halo Effect, Dead By April, Anette Olzon and Ryoji Shinomoto will take the stage.
The festival is designed for metal fans: a compact area, top-class sounds, a clear schedule and an 18+ age limit guarantee a relaxed but intensive festival experience. VIP tickets also offer private viewing areas, bars and seating.
