The ferry is a modern ship with 2 cargo decks. It accommodates 935 passengers and has a freight capacity of 1,500 lane meters for trucks and cars. The vessel has modern machinery running on a dual-fuel and battery solution. The combustion engines can use different fuels such as biogas, biodiesel and liquefied natural gas, LNG.
The Association for Finnish Work has awarded the Key flag symbol to Aurora Botnia as a recognition of a product made in Finland. It was built by Rauma Marine Constructions in Finland and is over 80% domestic made.
