Travel alternatives

Depending on the day of the week, you can choose between two cruise options:

On the Day cruise, the ferry makes a short port stop before turning around for the return journey. Passengers do not have to disembark during port stop. The total duration of the cruise is 8 to 10 hours – just enough time to relax and enjoy the experience at sea.

On the Day cruise with a visit ashore, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the charming cities of Vaasa or Umeå and their surroundings. The cruise departs in the morning and returns in the evening – all in one unforgettable day.

Aurora Botnia transports passengers and cargo between Vaasa, Finland and Umeå, Sweden all year round on a daily basis. One-way trip takes only 3.5 to 4 hours.

The High Coast of Sweden and the Kvarken Archipelago in Finland is the best place to understand the effects of the last ice age. Our route cuts across this Unesco world natural heritage site and the waters are rich in natural species.
