Aurora Botnia of Wasaline has been awarded the most prestigious Shippax award for design and technology.

The prestigious “Shippax Awards” have been awarded since 1996 and the jury consists of world-leading experts in the industry.

The two-day Shippax conference was organized this year for the 19th time and as always, the conference is organized on board a passenger ship with participants from the ferry, RoRo and the cruise industry. The Aurora Botnia is an outstanding Ro-pax vessel ombining a rigid focus on sustainability with an innovative design to ensure year-round service in a very challenging ice area. With her, the Umeå-Vasa line received a tailored vessel securing the operation’s long-term prosperous future.

Kudos Dsign also received an award for the architecture and design board.

Last Year we got the award “Ferry of the Year” on the European Ferry Shipping Summit and now Aurora Botnia got the award for design and technology. A lot of new technology, mainly from local suppliers, is on board Aurora Botnia and we are pleased that this has now received attention.
