Wasaline’s new ferry Aurora Botnia entered service between Vaasa, Finland and Umeå, Sweden exactly a year ago, on August 28th, 2021. The ferry has exceeded all expectations despite travel restrictions and disruptions caused by the pandemic. Aurora Botnia is a remarkable vessel and one of the most energy efficient passenger ferries in the world. The new ferry has helped Wasaline to break both passenger and freight records month by month. The future of this sea route between Finland and Sweden looks brighter than ever before.

Wasaline celebrates Aurora Botnia’s first anniversary with a prominent offer on passenger cruises. During week 35 customers can book a day cruise at half price from Wasaline website. Travel period for this campaign ends on November 17th. With this offer we wish to thank our loyal passengers, who have helped us to establish the company and supported it during challenging times.

During the first year of service Aurora Botnia has transported 250 000 passengers, almost 50 000 vehicles, and over 22 000 cargo units. The sales of hotel bookings through Wasaline has been good both in Vaasa and Umeå. In the Summer of 2022 Wasaline reported record number of hotel stays and travel volumes have recovered to pre-pandemic level.
