If you want to change your booking, you can do so via the link in your booking email. Alternatively, you can also change your booking via e-mail or via the telephone booking. If you make your change via email or phone, always refer to your booking number with the change.

The trip is canceled via the link in your booking email. The money is automatically transferred back to the card / account used at the time of booking in accordance with the applicable cancellation policy. Alternatively, you can contact our telephone booking or send an email to [email protected].

E-mails send to [email protected] are read daily whenever the boat is in traffic.

If a child is traveling alone they need to have an official identity card or passport. If a child is traveling in the company of an adult, only the adult is required to have official identification. Read more about certificates of identity, visa and residence permit here.

No. You have to be 18 to travel alone on a cruise. More information can be found here.

There is a wheelchair in both Vaasa and Umeå terminals and also one onboard. If you need a wheelchair it is always good to contact the terminal in advance to notify them.

There is vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free food onboard. You can ask the kitchen if you can’t find it in the buffet.

For security and maintenance reasons, all cruise passengers must leave the ferry when the time spent in port is over 2 hours. Please check your itinerary or contact the personnel on board if you need assistance.

It is not possible to stay overnight on board after the ferry arrives in the port.

If you use the option to cancel yourself via the link in the booking email, your money will be refunded automatically. However, expect a processing time of 2-7 days depending on the payment method. Refunds via email or phone are handled manually by the staff within 1-2 weeks.

The bus is not included in any bookings made with Wasaline.

There is no currency exchange onboard. The ship’s shop and restaurants accept cash payments in Euros and Swedish krona.

Pets must primarily travel in our pet lounge on deck 7. On your ticket there is a QR code that is used to open the door to the lounge. Read more about our pet lounge.

We have 2 separate cabins for passengers with pets. Choose Accessible cabin/pet cabin as the cabin type in tab 4 of our booking process.

For pets, a fee is charged regardless of whether it stays in the vehicle during the trip or if it is taken to the passenger facilities.

Pets can be left in a vehicle on your own responsibility. It is not possible to access the car deck during the journey.

Booking: Leave the Vehicle dropdown unselected in the first tab of our booking system. You will add a bicycle to your booking in the Extras tab.

Traveling: Arrive to the terminal at least 1 hours prior to departure. After checking in at the service counter inside the terminal, the boarding staff will give you further instructions on how to board the ferry.

On deck 7 next to the shop there are paid luggage lockers.

Printed keycards can be collected from the kiosk located on deck 7. Registered customers can also use the Wasaline app as a mobile cabin key. Read more →

Vaasa
Driving instructions: The port of Vaasa is located about 4 km from the city centre, in Vaskiluoto. Follow road signs “SATAMA” to the terminal.
Parking: Free, unguarded parking area outside terminal.

Umeå
Driving instructions: The Port of Umeå is located about 20 km east of Umeå. Follow road E12 straight to the terminal.
Parking: There is a unguarded parking area outside the terminal. Parking fees are applied.

Persons with health issues should consult their doctor regarding travel plans prior to making a reservation.

On board the ferry, all public areas are adapted for the disabled. There are, for example, adapted cabins, toilets and lifts between the decks.

For safety reasons we do not recommend travelling in advanced pregnancy.

Passengers with wheelchair are encouraged to use the gangway when boarding, since close access to a passenger lift on the car deck cannot be guaranteed. Our personnel will be happy to provide more information if needed.

We encourage passengers to get to know the vessel’s safety instructions. At departure a short presentation on the ship’s safety instructions and lifesaving equipment is given. The crew is always at your disposal regarding safety matters.

Wasaline safety management system is constructed according to the international safety code – ISM –Code – and it is approved and certified by Trafi.

Notice for passengers with cars:

  • All lose goods inside the vehicle must be securely fixed
  • Smoking and open fire are forbidden on car deck
  • Loitering on car deck during transit is forbidden
  • Doors to car deck are closed during transit and opened on arrival
  • Follow instructions closely on car deck and do not start your engine until it is your turn to drive out
  • Flammable liquids in open containers cannot be handled or stored on car deck
  • Valve on gas containers in campers and caravans must be closed during transit
  • There are no EV charging stations or RV power outlets on the car deck

Pets should be declared at the time of booking because only a certain number of animals is accepted on-board. Pets are allowed only in areas specifically reserved for that purpose or in a pre-booked pet cabin. Animals are not welcome to restoration areas, so please bring own bowls for water and food.

For country-specific import restrictions, please consult your veterinary.

All arrival and departure times are indicated in local time. Finland is one hour ahead (+1 h) of Sweden i.e. when the time is 13.00 in Finland, it is 12.00 in Sweden.

Time on-board is fixed at Finnish time.
