How can I make changes to a booking?

Answer: If you wish to make changes to a booking you can contact us by e-mail or by calling our telephone booking. Telephone booking is open all working days at 8-18 Finnish time and 7-17 Swedish time. You can also send an e-mail to [email protected]. Changes can be made up to 2 hours prior to the departure. Always give your booking number when making a change.

How do I cancel a booking?

Answer: A booking can be cancelled through our telephone booking or by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. Please give your booking number, bank and account number which you wish to be refunded to. Also please attach a doctor’s note if you are cancelling due to illness. Please check our cancellation rules.

When are e-mails read?

Answer: E-mails send to [email protected] are read daily whenever the boat is in traffic.

Do children need an official identity card to travel?

Answer: If a child is traveling alone they need to have an official identity card or passport. If a child is traveling in the company of an adult, only the adult is required to have official identification. Read more about certificates of identity, visa and residence permit here.

Is it enough if my friend is over 18 for me to go on a cruise?

Answer: Under 18-year-olds are allowed to go on shopping cruises with the permission of a care-taker. The document for granting permission for under 18-year-olds can be printed here. The age limit on cruises with very short stops and overnight cruises is 18 years.

Are there wheelchairs in the terminals and on the boat?

Answer: There is a wheelchair in both Vaasa and Umeå terminals and also one onboard. If you need a wheelchair it is always good to contact the terminal in advance to notify them.

Food onboard, is there vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options?

Answer: There is vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free food onboard. You can ask the kitchen if you can’t find it in the buffet.

Is it possible to overnight onboard when the boat is arriving late?

Answer: Is it normally not possible to overnight onboard. There are overnight cruises from Umeå on specific dates. Also for large groups it can be possible to overnight onboard, for more information contact our group booking at [email protected]

How long do refunds take?

Answer: Refunds are processed manually 1-2 times a week.

Where does the transfer bus stop in Vaasa?

Answer: The bus route in Vaasa: Wasaline terminal, Cumulus Resort Tropiclandia, Vaasanpuistikko (east side of the city hall), Hovioikeudenpuistikko (outside of Pub O’Malleys), bus and train station.

Where does the transer bus stop in Umeå?

Answer: The bus route in Umeå: Wasaline terminal, Umeå airport, IKEA/Avion, Vasaplan stop W, University hospital NUS (stop H), Ålidhem school.

Is the transfer bus included in hotel packages / cruises / one-way tickets?

Answer: The bus is normally not included in any bookings made with Wasaline.

Is it possible to change currency onboard?

Answer: Change of currency (Euros and Swedish crowns) is possible at the information on deck 7. The currency exchange is only possible with cash.

Can dogs be brought onboard?

Answer: Pets cost 5€/53SEK each regardless if they are brought onboard or left in a vehicle during the trip. You get a ticket from check-in that can be swapped at the information desk on deck 7 for the door code of the pet room on deck 8.

Can dogs be left in a vehicle?

Answer: Pets can be left in a vehicle on your own responsibility. It is not possible to access the car deck during the journey.
