Brännbollsyran is one of Northern Sweden’s largest music festivals. The event that started as a brännboll cup for university students in 1974 has become a full-grown festival weekend with world-class artists and over 30,000 visitors.

This years jubilee line-up includes streaming billionares such as Zara Larsson, Alan Walker, Lil Tjay and Fröken Snusk. Brännbollscupen, the sporting event, is expecting ca. 2,500 players to compete for the world cup title.

The event takes place in the beautiful Hedlunda area in central Umeå. Brännbollsyran has its own camping area that has amenities such as showers, toilets and food stands. Hotels of Umeå city centre are within walking distance.

The trip

The optimum way to reach Brännbollsyran from Finland is to book the following departures on Aurora Botnia:

• Departure on Friday 31.5.2024 at 8.00 from Vaasa
• Return on Sunday 2.6.2024 at 13.00 from Umeå

From the Holmsund ferry terminal you can take the transfer bus to the city centre. Advance booking is recommended. There is a 10-minute walk from the terminus to the festival area.
